I particularly like that after all the fanfare, Nathan can be reached at hotmail.com.

The book was featured in a recent Top Chef: Texas episode, no mention of price....

Are you purchasing one yourself or receiving it as a gift? Sticker still $625?

Purchasing. I think it will be useful for me; I like learning new things on my own. Thankfully, it's no longer $625.

Just purchased this. Amazing book with great photos. Came in a huge heavy box. Unfortunately the plastic case was cracked on arrival, but I wasn't planning on using it anyway.

With a Barnes and Noble coupon this was in the high $300s.

Tell them that the plastic case was cracked. They will most likely offer you a partial refund.
