I have a similar problem - J.Crew medium fits in the arms, chest and shoulders but billows in the midsection. For you, Large will probably do the same. Find a nice one for cheap (sale) and go to a tailor and have the sides taken in. It is worth the 10 extra bucks. I have 3 polos at the tailor now for this same reason.

That wasn't your original question. The original one was with respect to 'fit'.

If a tailor alleviates the fit issue, then Lacoste non-slim fit, Burberry, etc.

You have to be pretty fucking stupid not to find any results doing a search for polos on here.
