What They Sell at Daffy's -- New Blog on Daffy's Menswear - Page 12

see if you can get in touch with their new CEO, she came from Holt Renfrew up in Toronto. I wonder how much real estate Daffy's owns. My guess is they own some and that run up has allowed them to be a bit more slack with merchandising. Who knows - but I think your blog has a lot of good ideas and info for consumers.

FWIW on a separate note, there are a handful of mens and a decent amount of women's shearling coats at Daffys that are very high quality and a steal. Look for Pashaveneto, Viaveneto in mens and the following brands - Stephen and Olivieri on the women's side...

Important note for those of you interested in Gazzarrini - the Spring shipment just came into Philly today, including a large selection of suits. I expect that 34th, 57th East Side and Soho will get nice assortments as well. Also of note was an array of merchandise from Verdi & Kennedy, formerly La Camicera Italiana, a boutique located at 509 Madison Ave. in NYC, between 52nd & 53rd St's (http://www.verdikennedy.com/). All of it was high quality stuff, made in Italy, though, all private label made specially for the store. Unsure if you will see that merchandise in NYC, as there is a chance the deal was to only sell it outside of NYC locations, but that is just a shot in the dark - well worth a look if you can find it, especially the belts and ties.

Quick note - I don't often venture to the sock sections at Daffy's, but for those of you interested this is probably a great deal -- each store has maybe half a dozen pairs of Corgi socks at $12.99 each. And a few stores still have some pairs of socks from Florsheim by Duckie Brown. And for those interested in Gazzarrini, the 44th & Madison store had three pairs of shoes sitting on the floor, two in a size 11 (44EU), one in a size 10 (43EU) - the 11's were desert boots (pics on the twitter feed) and the 10's were a pair of forest green lace-ups; the Wall St. store had one pair of wooden-soled espadrilles in a size 11 (44EU) stuffed underneath a whole slew of Bass shoes.

INCOTEX PANTS ARE NOW IN -- Huge shipment of Incotex pants came into Philly today, though a lot of it is still in the back and not out on the floor yet. I was told someone already came in and bought 20 pairs. Get these before your fellow SF'ers buy the entire stock and mark them up 300%. $19.99/pair for all of the cotton pants. Most have slight defects, though, barely noticeable unless you see some little yellow stickers on them.

And if you do stop in, remember these can be yours for $16 w/this week's 20% off coupon, available on the Daffy's website. Plus, be sure to check out Mastai Ferretti and Truzzi-made shirts, $26.99-$29.99, shirts from Alea Fashion Industries, and shirts from Carrell/Del Siena, all $29.99 + suits from Gazzarrini and Copen Group (look for the hang tag w/a crest or one that says 'De Curtis;). Sorry if I sound like a walking Daffy's ad, but there hasn't been this big of a shipment of Incotex pants in a while, so I want to publicize the other great stuff there in the meantime. Good luck hunting!

Thanks for the updates. Going to see if anything's hit NYC yet. Promise I will only buy enough for personal consumption and leave some for the rest of you.

thks for the heads up, and the info on the coupon. called in to 57th st. picked up a couple of pairs of chino linos, $39.99. they had a whole rail, plenty of 32 and 34s.

also were putting out some wool super 100s at $59.99 when i was there. tried on a pair but they didn't really float my boat, fabric seemed very thin.

looking for incotex 36!  pst!

Would pay a nice proxy for some chino linos and others in 34! They have to be the slim fitting kinds though. Also, any slate, khaki or grey chinos would be really appreciated.

A year ago Incotex cottons were all $50-60, WTF are they doing at $90 now on B&S?

I went to Philly this afternoon and was less than thrilled. Lots of white, navy, and some pinstripes by Incotex. The Camiceria Italiana (sp?) white shirts were nice, but all 17 or 15.5. I am neither. Picked up a couple linen shirts, A. Basile and Paolo Verri, that seemed okay. Didn't see much Truzzi.
