why is it most of ervell in xs is gone i shouldn't find it surprising yet other brands like gitman a lot of xs still to be had.

Because Gitman xs is smaller than Ervell xs. Moreso since some ervell sweaters are running larger than this summer. Example - for shirts an ervell xs is about the same as a Gitman Small - both fit a 36 chest which is more common than a 34 chest (gitman xs)
