Very nice! These would also go great with khakis.
Where can one get these - and for about how much?
It depends on the jeans. A nice slim cut with a narrow fitted opening in dark denim? YES YES YES. Dad's 501's? Not so much.
I just bought a pair of 501's in rigid selvedge and they are the nicest pair of jeans I have ever owned. People love to hate on Levi's, but much of their denim is excellent.
How is the fit? I have a pair of Skinner jeans and they fit terribly!
I feel like the slightly more rounded last on the carminas will work better togheter with jeans compared to the more pointy/square toe on the lowndes
I've got the Carmina on the Inca (shown in the pic) in calf leather and the Lowndes in expresso suede. Both work very well with jeans.
If you haven't looked lately, Allen Edmonds (proudly handcrafted in the United States) has recognized they need to move a bit more fashion forward. Qualitry as good or better than any Italian shoe with many lasts and widths, and without the absurd price tag.
These shoes wear well out of the box, and last for years. Also able to be "redrafted" for a fraction of the price of a new pair. I have AE's in my closet that are 15 years old, still work well style wise and look like new. (with regular polishing and consistent use of cedar shoe trees.)
Take a look at their website. Double Monk Strap on sale now in three colors, including a burnished brown. Great with the right jeans, or dressed up too.
