There is a difference between "seriously undervaluing wares" and being happy with a profit until it is learned that a potentially bigger profit could be earned by spurning the people that got you to purchase said wares for a profit you would have been happy for in the first place.

EDIT: Nevermind. I'm not well-apprised enough of the facts to comment.

i was wondering this as well. i'm very familiar with the Sartoria Castangia line and label, but have never run across anything that just said "Castangia". are they lines from the same maker? or completely different?

I checked the pictures for curiosity, no handwork either my size.

I think it was safe to assume from the beginning that it was a second or from another line.
It is his suit, he can do what he wants I guess. If he has sold other things here, you would think he would not want to damage his reputation like this for $250?

Pretty fucking weak backtrack.

I have decided to weigh in on this issue after so much controvery.

Here is the truth, After so much demand for the suit I took a second look at it, tried it on more carefully and got the wife`s opinion. She really liked it and so did I. I then decided that the only way I would sell this suit is if someone paid a much larger amount of money. I am happy to keep it.

As for the comments, some of them were very immature. The bottom line is, if you do not like the price, don`t buy it.

Nuff said.

Copied for when this suit reappears in the forum in 3 weeks at $650.

This wasn't the first time OP followed up an IC with a higher asking price: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=222708 (See last post.)

They are the same maker, just not anywhere close to the same level of make.
Sartoria Castangia is pretty amazing stuff, on par with the best Attolini.
The 1850 line (as this suit is), is more on the Isaia level, maybe a little lower.
Still full canvass, pickstitched, machine button holes, hand attached sleeves and collar.
Hope that clarifies.
Its really good stuff, but not the highest.

How do you try on a suit more carefully?
