Hot tub/soak after a workout... good idea?

I've always enjoyed a 15-minute soak in my hot tub after a work out... but today a friend told me that's not good for your muscles? Is he right? Is a soak after a workout helpful?

Eh, hot cold/contrast showers are probably better.
Hot as you can stand for 15-60 seconds, soak entire body, as soon as you start to warm up switch to as cold as you can stand for 30-60, repeat a bunch and end on cold.

Of course, you could do that post hot tub. Or do hot cold showers right after, then do Epsom salt bath later that night (the magnesium boosts CNS recovery and can put you right down to sleep, which is nice).

Well if you have a hot tub and a cold swimming pool at your fitness centre use those. Otherwise use the shower.

Ice baths/cold showers are better post workout.
It has been proven that they helphelp the miuscles to contract and aid in recovery. This should relieve you of the ache and pain the next morning
