Er, it's not about caring what others think but rather making your praise seem more genuine from the start.

For some it might be, though I wouldn´t care about making my praise genuine. But others probably do it just to avoid getting criticism as if they were involved with said store. There´s a saying in spanish: "Hay de todo en el reino del señor", and it applies here. Not everyone posting that does it for the same reason.

I clarified that I wasn't affiliated because I've only got a couple of posts, including one on the PSA thread about the 20% discount on Mr. Porter.  Didn't want it to seem like I was pimping for them and undercut the value of the opinion.  I personally like to know if someone is affiliated as it obviously affects how much I trust a post.

+100 . This is my new favorite online store. Ordered Tuesday & received this morning and without requesting anything special, their packaging is amazing.
I called a couple of times and the phone was picked up within three rings.
Unlike the Phucking Idiots working for Barney's " online tragedy' excuse for a retailer.
I ordered my wife something for her Birthday 7 days in advance, paying for expedited Shipping and 12 days later - no show. Needless to say I cancelled the order and they will never see a Dime from me.
I tried 3 different times in as many days, to reach the Valextra counter at the NY Barney's with no luck. The switchboard transfers the call to what appears to be a Ghost line...I wonder how they manage to stay afloat ( Gulf State $ ?).

I have only one experience with Mr. Porter. I was looking for a wallet for my brother-in-law. Checked the US and UK websites and there was a massive difference between the prices for the same wallet. I got the wallet for $75 in the US, whereas they were charging £80 (c.$120) in the UK. I don't know if it's always cheaper in the US, but it's something probably worth checking.

The UK has 20% sales tax, which is part of it.

My friend ordered a pair of Purple label shoes. We're both fairly certain that it said it was UK sizing... but when it arrived, it was in the same size but US sizing

If they are US 11 and don't fit, PM me.

Likewise, if they are a US10 (UK9) I'd gladly buy 'em off you instead of having to deal with a return.

Ditto for a US 9.5 - and uh, of course, what model and price they were.

Ditto if they are sized between UK1 and UK15 and I will take any model.

Well, if he doesn't want to lose his toes and they are my size, he has a buyer, since I was 1st. Of course, a premium will be paid, depending on his price and model of the shoe.
