Disagree. Balmoral looks odd in that configuration, IMHO.

How about standard blucher/oxford but captoe like the bal pictured and same last, eyelets?

I see your point. I still think it's handsome. So many make ups! *sigh*

I think the sepia brown Dainite soles would look similar to the double leather sole if we want to keep that aesthetic

Agreed. I also dislike the idea of a red sole. I could be persuaded for black, brown, or double leather. I much prefer the original picture that spawned this discussion.

I really hope for that buidl! I do own the dead stock harness leather oxford on the 2030 last, that was offered when the viberg.com website went online. It is a beautiful shoe and the fit is perfect. I went down .5 from my redwing/1000mile/Yuketen sizing and had the chance to try the 2030 last in person before. I only whish it would NOT have the double leather midsole and a dainite instead of the vibram sole. It makes the boot very heavy (you won't take it along on a weekend trip unless it's already on your feet) and harder to break in. And it takes away a bit of the sleeker look. For me, there will be no other last than the 2030. It is the perfect mix of workboot style without the clunky (clowny) look of many other brands out there. Especially when you are not that tall and have smaller feet. This seems to be one of the most active threads! Unbelievable, how many comments and make-up ideas have been posted over the last 2 days! keep it up..

If I have to choose between a green service boot and this cap toe, I will definitely vote for this

I still want to know what last the derby is on. Looks sleek like the 2030 but toe seems rounder, so maybe 1035?

I am in exactly as pictured - same leather, same last, same sole.

So is it possible to do a derby and boot MTO again? Still interested in the Nigel Cabourn boot as well
