Thanks guys.

So let's see,

I wear 7.5D in OSB trenches (wear boot socks) so that'd be 7D on 2030 last and similar barrie/trubalance boots if I wear boot socks. Otherwise it's possible I could be 6.5D on barrie/trubalance if I wear dress socks.

Just wanted to update this. I stopped by Pelle Line at GSP today and tried on the Alden 975 in 6.5D and it fit perfectly (Had on dress socks) so I guess I could be 6.5D on the 2030 last haha.

Cordovan is most certainly worth exploring if it's possible with Viberg. It going to raise the bar on costs though if possible. If going that far lined would be awesome. Like the Navy Shell recently posted for pre orders. If that was on 2040 and 10 eyelet I'm in!
I'm told that cordovan, even #8, is unlikely to happen for a service boot mto. The price is also going to be significantly higher for Viberg shell as compared with Alden (despite both sourcing from Horween), so I would be inclined to stick to my Alden guns for a cordovan makeup.

It is said often....referring to cordovan. I'm not saying they won't look good, but CXL is a different animal.
Fair enough. I have several Aldens in brown Horween cxl, as well as the Viberg service boot in brown cxl, so I feel assured that the quality will be strong. That said, does anyone have a color 8 cxl viberg boot who would care to show pics in the wild? Many thanks in advance!

Cool mate. Yeah, I figured it wouldn't be easy. CXL is prob a go. Let's see what the new twist 2030+toe (my take on whatever it is) last brings I guess. if it's 2030 I'm out though bud.

Today I had a pair of brand new 1950 Service Boots arrive.

310 Last
Derby Nut Brown leather
Commando Sole/Dainite Heel
Brogue toe cap

Picked these up through Kentaurus in Germany. Stefan saved me a trip to the factory to order pretty much exactly what I would have through an in-person MTO.

Natural shell cordovan service boot from 14oz Berlin. One of my favorite boots I own.

Sure, Derby leather is smooth side out. Not near as shiny as Chromexcel but still smooth to the touch. The leather is tumbled slightly so there's a small amount of texture to it (subtle wrinkles on the surface). In the sunlight you can see all sorts of variations in the colour. I've seen Brown CXL in person, and I'd say it's close to the Derby Nut Brown in darkness.

I got these from Kentaurus in Germany. Stefan runs the shop. I found him by going through Viberg's entire stockists list, visiting each website, and seeing who had what in stock. I got in touch with Stefan via email and worked with him from there.

Oh my good God. Those are perfect! Congrats and wear in the best of health.

A great example of the 10 eyelet case. The additional eyelets, rendered smaller than in the 7 eyelet layout, facilitate the appearance of an elegant, sleek-looking foot profile. Come on folks, how about a 10 eyelet color 8 cxl service boot?!

Jon, there is also the Iron Heart Forum for folks wanting numbers for MTO. You should join that one to try for numbers as well. Mr Juiceman started it I think?? Worth a look anyway.

Each piece of leather on my heavy matte black calf boots is wearing nearly uniformly, with the tiny wrinkles on each piece. It's unbelievable how immaculate these boots are. Not one veiny piece of leather.

And guys like @Crane's still argues in the wolverine thread that Wolverines quality is better than Viberg, lol.
