Viberg Boots - Page 145

Nice comparison and great pics. Those Manufactum boots have partially structured toe by the way. I have two black Viberg service boots and I definitely root for keeping the Manufactum boots. They don't look too bulbous in my opinion comapared to those 3Sixteen's Andrew Stealth Service Boots, it is just a different look. I wanted originally shell cordovan MTO pair with unconstructed toe, but I'm really glad I went with the Manufactum boot and I feel that over time and wear shell cordovan boot will benefit aesthetically from having a little structure in the toe area.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to let you all know directly that we will no longer be taking orders for single pair custom make ups. We hinted a while back that MTO might be coming to an end and we've officially hit the point where we can no longer offer it. This is happening for a couple of reasons, but essentially it boils down to inefficiency. The custom orders take up far too many man hours and consistently slow down the workflow in the factory. We will continue to expand our wholesale network in 2014 as well as our offerings on Viberg.com, so hopefully the end result is that it's easier to get your hands on a pair of our boots.

We plan to offer MTO events in various locations in the future which will give people a limited opportunity to build something special. We're also happy to work directly with you on a custom pair if you can somehow make it to the factory in Victoria where we can go over materials and fit in person. Forum members also have a tremendous opportunity with what Fok is doing on the Marketplace.

Anyone who is currently in the midst of an MTO boot will continue corresponding with Morgan, but the mto@viberg.com email address will be terminated in a few days. If anyone has any further questions about this or anything else, please contact us anytime at info@viberg.com. I know this might be disappointing news for some customers, but i can assure you it's a big and necessary step in the right direction for us as a company.

Thanks,
Guy

While I'm sad to hear this news, it's definitely understandable and awesome to hear business is going so well. Really glad I got my order in on time though smile.gif Pretty psyched to get those in.

Can't wait to see some more great makeups from the SF collabs in the future, hopefully after some more cash is freed up.

It's great to see Viberg growing and moving forward. The sample sale was fun and the MTO collabs with Fok have been interesting to watch.

Today at 1pm we will be releasing an 8" Engineer and a Service Boot both in Black Horsehide. The leather is from Shinki tannery in Japan and both boots feature full Cat's Paw soles. The Engineers have roller buckles also from Japan. We went to pretty great lengths sourcing the components for these two boots and i'm really happy with how they turned out.

Unfortunately, we only had enough leather left for 6 pairs of the Service Boots to be made. That being said we can stretch a pair a half size for you if you know your size. Just let us know ahead of time or put it in the notes of your order during checkout.

Whoever snapped up the size 10 Service Boot right away -- you saved me from temptation!

A question for Guy, just out of curiosity:  The edges of the horsehide on these are not natural, as HH seems usually to be.  Have they been died black?  Or is that just the nature of this particular HH?

Good eye! The Shinki Horse is dyed all the way through. Well not quite, as you will notice an almost grey core on certain places, but it's pretty close to solid. It's tough to capture in photos, but this is really, really nice leather.

Yeah, really beautiful leather, for sure...

So, I take it that the Horsehide is not available, even if we were to get several people to sign on for an order?

Hi guys,

Just wanted you guys to know that I am extending the deadline for the order of the MTO Styleforum boots, both the loden green service boot, and the tan bison scout boot, to December 15.  Unfortunately, I had a bit of a medical emergency, and have not been able to fulfill requests the past week.  If you wish to preorder, please feel free to do so here (I think that we have 2 great makeups that are entirely different, and that are both reallt special and will be something special for you guys):
