I'm afraid to do a whole size down. If I do a half and its still big I guess I can always put an insole in there.

Sazon, are you getting Vibergs as well?? If you do, you wont regret this decision. I have on pair and going to order few other model for sure.

Steel: Hey buddy! I am really digging these! What's your experience sizing the 2030 last?

Thanks!

My friend! Here some info:

I've received advice from Viberg and based on my sizing for 2040 last that I have which is UK8 I might go for same size in 2030. 2040 last is extremely comfortable and feels as good and comfortable as Indy on Trubalance.

"If you feel like you've got some room width and depth wise in the toe then you should be able to take a size 8 in the 2030 as well. The 2040 is pretty much as narrow as the 2030, it's just a shallower, slightly pointier toe shape. They are both an E width though, so if you are comfortable in one you should be okay in the other".

As you know, I wear in Aldem:

8.5D Barrie
9D Plaza
8.5 Trubalance

I'm still trying to make my final decision between 8UK and 8.5UK for 2030 last..

I also have Boondockers on order and I took size 8UK in 110 last.

I'm generally wearing a 10 in Red Wings, 10/10.5 in Alden Barrie and I have the 2030 in 10. It fits alright, but a bit tight.

Next time I'd go for a 10.5.

In my personal experience:
2030 Last - 8.5
Red Wing Iron Rangers 8.5
Red Wing 1907 - 9
Wolverine 1000 mile - 8.5
Allen Edmonds 5 Last - 8.5E

I wear medium thickness wool socks and they all fit snug but not too tight out of the box

Good lord.

What leather is this? Is this Icy Mocha Chromexcel? It looks more orange.

Looks like Icy Mocha/Natural CXL to me.

I thought so too but I have not seen natural chromexcel that color when new, nor have I seen Icy Mocha CXL that orange and bright.

Looks like there is just one of each size in the three new boots.

Saz,

let me know how sizing works out for you.

I went with an 8 which is my Barrie sizing and I am 8.5 in Grant and Plaza and a 7.5Uk in Trickers 4497 (which is kind of big on me). I had originally ordered a 7.5, which is a full size down because that is how Trickers is for me, but in talking with Morgan it is not a true Uk sizing and based off the narrowness of the 2030 he felt the 8 would be a better fit.

I ended up going with my Barrie/TruBalance size as well, though Morgan suggested going a full size down from that when I sent my trace in a while back. After seeing so many people go with their TruBalance size, I figured that was a much safer bet.

So far, I'm impressed with the process—my order shipped out a couple of hours after I placed it.

Went down one size based on conversations and  upon measurements. Shipped the same day (nice). Sitting in ISC SF customs (not so nice). Will see.

Have fun Y'all

.5 from your Barrie size or .5 from TTS?
