Viberg Boots - Page 122

Weather is finally cooling off. Just took out my brand new pair of scout boots for the first time in a while. I had forgotten how beautiful they are.

IMO the 160 last is underrated.

edit: Color kind of messed up in the photo. The eyelets are bronze and the stitching has a very slight contrast. Hard to do the boots justice with my cell cam.

Nice boots. What sole is that?

They are Maxum rubber soles. Very heavy duty.

I like the 160 last. Would love some roughout lace to toe oxfords

Hey guys. Just a heads up that we will be releasing three Chromexcel Service Boots at around Noon today. All of them are on the 2030 last and have a full Dainite Sole. There is Black, Icy Mocha and Colour 8. The initial runs are very small but we will definitely try to restock quickly depending on how they sell. Contact us if you have any questions.

I've been lurking here and on the special order threads but the above Service Boots are really right what I'm after. Pardon the sizing question, but if I'm a 10D in Red Wing and also Alden Leydon, 11 in most sneakers would I go with a 10 in the 2030 last Service Boot?

Viberg sizing is somewhat similar to UK sizing.  Which means you should size down by 1/2-1 size depending on how you like your fit.

^thanks. That would make me more like 9.5 I think.

I've seen the advice of sizing down either a whole or a half.

I'm afraid to do a whole size down. If I do a half and its still big I guess I can always put an insole in there.

Steel: Hey buddy! I am really digging these! What's your experience sizing the 2030 last?

Thanks!

My friend! Here some info:

I've received advice from Viberg and based on my sizing for 2040 last that I have which is UK8 I might go for same size in 2030. 2040 last is extremely comfortable and feels as good and comfortable as Indy on Trubalance.

"If you feel like you've got some room width and depth wise in the toe then you should be able to take a size 8 in the 2030 as well. The 2040 is pretty much as narrow as the 2030, it's just a shallower, slightly pointier toe shape. They are both an E width though, so if you are comfortable in one you should be okay in the other".

As you know, I wear in Aldem:

8.5D Barrie
9D Plaza
8.5 Trubalance

I'm still trying to make my final decision between 8UK and 8.5UK for 2030 last..

I also have Boondockers on order and I took size 8UK in 110 last.

I'm generally wearing a 10 in Red Wings, 10/10.5 in Alden Barrie and I have the 2030 in 10. It fits alright, but a bit tight.

Next time I'd go for a 10.5.

In my personal experience:
2030 Last - 8.5
Red Wing Iron Rangers 8.5
Red Wing 1907 - 9
Wolverine 1000 mile - 8.5
Allen Edmonds 5 Last - 8.5E

I wear medium thickness wool socks and they all fit snug but not too tight out of the box

Good lord.

What leather is this? Is this Icy Mocha Chromexcel? It looks more orange.
