Whatever his motivation for choosing a username that happens to appear so similar to yours, I agree that it is potentially confusing. I would vote for him being forced to modify it to look less like yours.

As for speed hooks...I dislike them except on work boots, and then only on taller ones.

Where Viberg uses a high quality thick rounded brass component, different strokes for different folks no doubt.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Yep, Ive seen them. The rounded edges (assuming they've been smoothed underneath) probably help with the lace shredding relative to Alden's but they also appear more shallow which ups the potential of them becoming undone, definitely with those rawhide laces. I basically have accepted their existence with Aldens because waiting 3+ years for my ideal eyelet configuration doesnt work for me (neither does waiting 3 years for a shoe) but Im glad they dont show up too often in Viberg's offerings.

Just looked thru the options to change username and didn't see it.

It was a random selection and no way intended to be that similar to an existing user.

And agree on the speed laces being a necessity on a taller boot, but the shorter Viberg service

boot really benefit me with this easy on and easy off top speed lace eyelets - it's a neat option that

should be incorporated more often IMO.

@LA Guy can change his username or force a reset of it.

On the speed hook issue, I go back and forth. I do find them to be annoying sometimes, but the convenience does make a big difference, especially if you use the quick lacing method (holding both laces with one hand and quickly lacing them up).

I've got a pair of Snuff Suede J.Crew Kenton's with 3 pairs of speed hooks on each boot and they've never caught on anything or been an issue whatsoever.

I feel like I'm in the minority but I really like Viberg's Chelseas. I have the Snuffe Suede ones and really like these Color 8s. If the Color 8 wasn't so eggplanty and more red like Viberg's first run of their service boot I would pick these up also.

The oil harness leather looks like the leather that would come if my Brown waxed and Mocha Oil Tan had a baby. A very attractive baby to boot.:rimshot:

For that guy wondering about natural shell.

^ Looks good.

Less leather to use too.

Derby boot? Interesting. But natural shell may mean I will try to get in before it sells out.

If you are interested they will sell out within 30 seconds so you will definitely have to have made your mind up before the launch time and be sure to click fast.

Around $1100?

Looks like the partially structured 2030?

Didn't see it on their site.

It's a shame it's not stitchdown... I'd cop in a heartbeat. Unfortunately will be a pass.
