Viberg Boots - Page 1125

Just recently purchased my first pair of Viberg from Lost & Found, natural CXL with dainite sole. I am somewhat of an extreme pronator and so for most of my shoes the outer edges of the heel get worn out very quickly. I've never owned dainite souled shoes before however for some of my leather soled shoes I've mitigated some of the heel wear by getting rubber taps. Is that something i could do for dainite as well?

Sure.

Sorry for sounding ignorant, but how does proxying work on a sample sale? The final buyer doesn't know whats available. Is it just get me anything (insert vague description)???

BTW I'm off that Friday, and live a 45min train ride away. I guess it would be something interesting to see.

I'm driving down Saturday from Boston. Can't get there Friday. I wonder if there will even be anything left?

there was still decent stuff on Sat if I recall last year. nothing rare or highly sought after though, but some basic cxl and gyw options. i remember the tan bisons sitting till sunday, but more likely because they were a 12 or 13.

Did they have any half sizes last year? I'm worried I'll drive all that way to see only full sizes. I could probably email them and ask.

I mean...i dont think there is an official proxy guide...Its up to you and your proxy how specific you want to get. You might just say "brown cap toe" and be open to GYW/Stichdown, brogue/straight, leather/dainite, smooth/rough etc.

If you have a really generous proxy (or you're paying them well), you might be able to have them call you and tell you specifically what's available.

I dont think they limited proxy buying last year as it sounds like a lot of that went on. I remember 3sixteen specifically stated they would only allow people to buy their own size(s) when they released their makeups last summer.

What he said.....there's no way of knowing what they are going to have so you kind of accept that your going for generalities.

Now this may sound crazy but I can imagine if you had a device that received messages in the form of photos and that person also had a device that took photos that could be sent over the "Internet" you might be able to make some more specific choices ;)I'm just f@cking with you but you get the idea.

hahaha...yea...you could certainly do that.  i've never been to a sample sale, but I can only imagine it could get a little crazy, even though they limit the # of people who are in the store at a time.

If i were a proxy, I wouldnt want to get stuck with something like:

Buyer: I want that one in the back left

Proxy: Too slow, somebody took it

Buyer: The one on the bottom right!

Proxy: The cap toe or the plain toe?

Buyer: Cap toe!

Proxy: too slow!

but to each their own....

Same.   I told my wife last night that I almost booked the tickets and she looked at me like I was crazy.

From personal experience I would only proxy for someone I know or a active forum member. I'd also require full deposit of funds into paypal before hand and clear expectations of what they wanted (and flexibility on other stuff, say they need dainite but ok with gyw or stitchdown). I've had plenty of people who give me contact info then at actual sale refuse to answer phone / texts then bitch after when they didn't get what they wanted. Not really worth hassle.
