For that last, I like the more casual configuration more. Not really a huge fan of the last, but that's neither here nor there.

I'd go with the first pair scb, though not a fan of the last either.

Why not go for wink.gif

Actually, I completely change my mind. The dressy configuration of the second in that very workboot last intrigues me.

Might have to custom order a pair of these sometime soon after seller on the market decided to keep his.

1.) Viberg Boondocker not sure the Last, size 8.5 fit great
2.) Viberg Chukka cordovan 2030 Last size 8.5d fit ok bearable
3.)Black shell cordovan service boot 2030 last size 9 fit ok but like the 8.5 better
4.) Oxford (Sample Pattern), Natural Aniline CXL Roughout, Tan Lining, Leather Sole/Dovetail Heel, 2040 Last, No Box Toe, size 9  fit ok

So far the 8.5 fit best, the toe box including both sides of the ball of my foot is a little tight but not painful. No blisters have developed or joint pain.. Just wear thin socks.

On the other hand, my 2030 size 9.0 service boot fits much worse (both sides on the ball of my foot). It is a little too tight and I would need to wear moleskin or a great pair of socks to prevent blisters from devolving. I wore these boots for about 4 hours around he house and had to take them off due to the foot pain and hot spots around the ball of my foot.

I can still wear the 9.0d in size 2030 but would prefer a 8.5, hope this explanation assists you on your decision.
By the way if any of you are still on the fence http://www.manufactum.co.uk/viberg-shell-cordovan-boot-p1459459/ they look amazing in person. Pics included!

Thanks again. Your feet may be wider than mine. This makes me think that 8.5 might be the best choice for me. But I just don't know. I want to order these boots, but I have a bad feeling about this last. It is too much money to pit down with this much uncertainty.

Honestly I would buy the pair of Viberg's, the craftsmanship on all the Viberg's I own (even the simple boondocker) far surpassed my expectations. They are constructed far more superior to any Alden's I posses. I have more enjoyment wearing my Viberg's then my rare Alden cordovans boots which I am obsessed with.

Sure the 2030 is not as comfortable as Modified last but I am willing to make the trade off.

To my mind, this is the perfect boot shape.  The first in horsehide with captoe would be my ideal boot.

I prefer that shape as well. The service boot with the soft toe looks silly to me. Would like it even more if the heel were slightly more substantial.

Cool. That makes more sense

Does anyone use inserts with their Vibergs? If so, what do you go for?

I'm receiving the boon dockers in size 10, but not sure if they'll be a bit big for me, so might have to use inserts.

If anyone owns the 110 last I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on how they fit in relation to other last/brands.
