Cheers,

Fok.

What if the boots are not in our size. For me. A lot of the 10.5s are out. Can we hold out till something else pops up?

I almost pulled the trigger on the service boot, but couldn't get past that black split welt. Flat I could probably get over it.

And another day of shell.

Color 8 today in the morning shade.

A zippered Viberg boot on Instagram causing a bit of a kerfluffle. I have to admit it depresses me to think of Viberg doing zippered boots, but I'll try not take it as a sign of the apocalypse...

I like it. Innovation is a good thing. Doesn't mean it will ever get made but generally companies need to push themselves outside of their comfort zone to strengthen their brand identify. Very healthy excercise

I like zipped boots, fwiw.  Both looks cool and is incredibly practical.

It's been interesting the last few years with new makers moving in to fill the spot Viberg carved out (Truman in particular). A new chapter may be on the horizon but it could be exciting.

I guess I understand the frenzy created by the Viberg IG with a zippered boot.  But I don't really see the need to call it the end of the world.  As Ryden says, companies need to push boundaries, and those boundaries might not fit in with one's particular aesthetics.  I personally would be interested in a zippered Viberg, but really only because it'd be made by Viberg.  It would allow me to wear my Vibergs when traveling, which I do not do now.

As an aside, I took a pair of beater AE Long Branch boots and had a local cobbler install side zippers.  The goal was to be able to wear boots when traveling.  The work wasn't very clean but it works.

Brett's posted a couple of pictures of boots with Boa closures recently.

I like the look of the zipper boots. They weren't sure if the Inside Out Service Boots were going to make production, so all of these might be internal prototypes that never see the lighjt of day. But I like the fact that Viberg are experimenting, and would take any of these over yet another pair of brown Service Boots.

So Fok, are you going to propose a zip-up boot for the next GMTO?
