If I can only buy one (for now, at least), which pair would you suggest?

Thanks!

I concur about smooth vs rough-out. I'd get the bison. I'm not a rough-out guy. Viberg.com has a similar makeup with an unstructured toe and 8 mini-eyelets.

You might consider black waxed flesh as well. Check out Palmer Trading. They have a sweet makeup.

Congrats! The first thing I noticed was how much thicker the CXL is for my Viberg boots than my similar Alden boots. It's a more heavy duty, solid work boot IMO (as it should be given the price difference). The construction is also on another level. I love both for different reasons!

After having several Aldens, I was astounded at the quality and bulk of my first Vibergs. Now I have 6 pair. =/

I went with the brown waxed flesh from Notre....free shipping with permitted returns helped ease the nerves without knowing my 2030 size for sure

If these are too small, then I will reach back out to you on the coffee chromepak.....like those a lot as well

Awesome. I have that makeup as well. So I guess that's actually 7 pair..

It's the best fitting 2030 lasted Viberg I have, actually, being the least tapered in the toe box. If yours ends up like that, it will probably fit great.

I had tried a 2030 black waxed flesh from Palmer Trading in an 11, and it was a tad too small. If you're an 11.5 on the brannock, the 11 in 2030 will probably fit you, unless you're wide in the toes.

Also, more Vibergs are more better. wink.gif

So for the 2030, you only sized down 0.5?

we shall see how the fit is.......Viberg advised me to size 1/2 down from Barrie / Trubalance

New to Viberg, and learning as much as I can through this thread.  I'm keen on a pair of black boots.  Would the Black Chromexcel service boots available on the Viberg website be a good choice?

A lot of us aren't huge fans of the goodyear welt that they have on the replacement models on .com and prefer the stitchdown variety.

I think you should look at the black waxed flesh offerings from notre or palmer trading.

yes. I'm 12D on brannock, and 11.5 on 2030 is sometimes small: too tapered on the inside (big toe) of the toe box. Compare the taper of the toe box to other boots and you'll see what I mean.

This is exactly the kind of information I was hoping for.  Thank you!

Wow. LMK how they fit.

I'm a 7e in barrie, 7.5e grant, 7.5d wolverine 1000 mile, 7eee in the ae5, and just got my size 7 black cxl unstructured in the 2030. They're relatively tight across the vamp. Do you guys think I should just account for the anticipated stretch? I'm tempted to size up.

I'm pretty much the same sizing across the board as you.  I tried 7.5 and there was too much room upfront but find the 7 to tight across the vamp and above the toes (height). That said I would account for the cxl stretch and stick with 7.
