I have the derby and it's more smooth

Thank you, are they a close match in texture?  My bisons don't really match but I am okay with that.  Leather is leather.

I beg to differ.  I believe it to possibly involve drugs, murder, mystery and intrigue.  I actually heard that the Standard & Strange delivery truck driver was murdered, a simple case of mistaken identity.  It seems the thieves thought they were getting a truck load of cocaine, only to discover a truck load of Viberg Boots instead.  Unhappy about the lack of drugs and the overabundance of boots with a prissy mini lug sole, they promptly brought the batch to a local cobbler who swapped out the mini lug for full commando soles on all the boots.  In an unexpected twist of fate, the driver who was presumed dead but who was actually saved when a bullet pierced a thick piece of Viberg sample leather (that was tucked into his chest pocket) instead of his heart, took the thieves by surprise, reclaimed the truck and completed his delivery to Standard & Strange.  The driver was apparently very conscientious about his deliveries, this we know.  But it seems he was also afraid he would be seen as an accomplice since he actually stole the piece of sample leather that saved his life.  Upon delivering the boots, he disappeared and has not been seen or heard from since.  His dog is very worried and very hungry from what I understand.  Upon receiving the boot delivery, Standard & Strange became aggravated when they discovered a full commando sole instead of a mini lug sole and accused Viberg of getting the order wrong. Viberg denied getting the order wrong and was insulted by the insinuation that they made a mistake, a rare occurrence for Viberg and only known to have happened a mere 9 times since Ed founded the company in 1931, something they pride themselves on.  Yet, Standard & Strange had the evidence in hand and as it turns out, the cobbler did such a good job, even Viberg started second guessing themselves. Standard & Strange had no choice but to cancel the order and sever relations with the Viberg company. The feeling was mutual and Viberg counter-severed ties with the Standard & Strange company.

The good news that came out of all this...the cobbler was later discovered and hired by Viberg, having performed such a meticulous resole on all of the mini lug boots in the Standard & Strange order.  He is now Head of Restorations at Viberg.

See?  Sometimes there is much much more to things than meets the eye.

I have a request from members of the Styleforum community, and am hoping they can help me determine my ideal Viberg size.

Can anyone that wears a size 7 or 7.5 in Viberg (any last, but particularly 2030) post or PM a foot tracing so I can compare. If that is too much to ask I would be happy with some measurements of their foot (heel/toe & heel/ball of foot length) along with details about last/size and whether you are happy with the fit.

I know that there is already a lot of advice out there and Viberg themselves have recommended either 7 or 7.5 for me but would really appreciate some input. I am hoping to avoid multiple orders and having to pay return overseas shipping (to/from Aus)

Cheers

He left the dog and let him wander the streets without food, water or toilet?

Now they're a Viberg stockist (or were). money is to be made in the stock they sell on their own site or at bigger outlets such as Mr Porter. The snobs at Tate and Yoko should stick to their shitty overpriced naked and famous denim anyways (I've had bad experiences with them, just speaking my mind wink.gif

Like you said it is a two way street but let's not forget Viberg is not exactly a household name anywhere outside of this forum...and it would seem Rutgers football games...lol

They probably due need them in the sense that nothing trumps cash...I bet they have sold more 2030 GYW derbies to one or two stockists than they have on their site in total. Would not shock me if they do not work net 30 terms either so they probably receive partial payment up front and the rest due on a COD type basis. That is working capital.

Couldn't sleep and just went on instagram to see who was posting what with #viberg and came across these aged bark 310. Pretty good looking (even if the last isn't for me)

https://instagram.com/p/995ewVQUDL/
they were also showing a waxed flesh on 2040 and pit bison on 1045

I've contacted them in the past about shipping 310's to the states. Pretty cool guy to chat with. He will ship to the US but he will also warn that the boots are going to cost you a fair bit more than buying them in the US or Canada. If I remember correctly the cost was somewhere around 1100-1200.

Yes. I believe the price is already $900 or so without shipping fees due to the exchange rate. The USD is fairing a bit better these days than a year ago when I asked but I wouldn't expect a drastic difference.

Great boots and interesting about the toe box.  Are you talking width or height of the toe box?  I have issues with the height as it feels as though my there's pressure on my toes.
