Viberg Boots - Page 942

I own all mentioned in size 11. Should work for you if you're a true 11.5

Some time back, someone said that obsession with White's boots might eventually lead to an interest in Viberg - sort of a gateway drug, I guess. Well, I love my White's boots for sure, but I've recently got this budding interest in Viberg, especially after seeing the Icy Mocha service boot on the Viberg site.

I've done a little digging back in the thread and the best I can determine is that the 2030 last sizing should be roughly equivalent to White's SD, Alden barrie last, Alden Indy, & RW Iron Ranger - all 11D in my case. Is this right?

Anyone want to talk me out of this?

If you wanna be talked out of it, you came to the wrong place!!

@spurs61 I take the same size in the Viberg 2030 as i do in the Alden Indy. They feel like very different lasts however: the 2030 tapers much more across the toebox and also has a shade less volume in this area.

Tottenham fan by the way? Hope so.

Interesting.....Viberg advised me to size down 1/2 from Alden Barrie/TB.

Me and my narrow feet:
11C Alden Barrie. Fits pretty well. Often need thick socks or a thin insert.
11C Alden TruBalance. Too wide. Definitely an insert and thick socks. I should be an 11B here.
10.5 2030. Length is right. Not bothered by slim toe box. I still put an insert in.

I realize this may not help you given I have a weird situation. However the first pair of Vibergs in 2030 I tried was an 11 from Mr. Porter. They went back. Too sloppy. Then I consulted Notre Shop with all of the above information and they correctly suggested 10.5. I can speak from a length perspective that going down a half from Alden works for 2030.

I wouldn't for the 2030...unless perhaps you're a narrow YMMV as they say

I size down half from my Barrie size across all Viberg lasts.

I think this is a tough one where shape of your foot is the difference. I tried a half size down from barrie and it was tight everywhere for me...the deal breaker was to short on the toes...oddly not the curve of the toe box just the length.

My barrie shoes fit perfect with standard dress socks...tight with medium socks. The 2030 I can wear medium thick socks perfectly fine.

One thing:  If you're a White's wearer you will really miss the arch support.  My experience is that, other than the 310, Vibergs have essentially none.  And that combined with their tendency to often send out boots with a built in pronation (inward lean) can be a problem for those of us with high arches.

Thanks all for the sizing advice. My hunch is that 11 is the way to go for me (hope I'm right). I've never been a 10 1/2 in anything, but have been an 11 1/2 -12 in some shoes. The reported narrower toe box in the 2030 makes me worry.

Yes, most definitely a Tottenham fan for many years. I have ventured to White Hart Lane a number of times over the years as well. As you probably recognized "61" is for 1961, the last time Spurs won the "double." While I was around then, I was too young to remember it.

Hey linafelt:

This does give me pause. The reason I love White's is the arch support - I'm on my feet a lot during the day. I guess I would have to use these in rotation like with my Aldens. Hmmm - first world problems.

This is me. I straddle 11.5/12D in most dress shoes (closer to 11.5D). Recently I wore a 1000 miler size 11 and it fit me pretty well.

I recently ordered a 2030 Viberg in 11. Should arrive in a couple days.

Can anyone tel me if there's a customs fee if I order from Lost and Found? I wasn't charged a fee directly from Viberg.

I'm pretty sure there isn't, because the boots are made in Canada, ie: made in North America. (NAFTA)
