Mine has a shell split on the cap toe down by the welt, but It's minor enough to not bother me. Let see a pic.

So much for the GYW preventing damage to the material. Update us with what Viberg says. Other manufacturets would sell these at a discount on the seconds/irregular list.

Interesting that it is in the same spot, looks like it happens during construction.

Damn, I like Viberg but this is not acceptable for 1K + boots.

The price is irrelevant. We have had this debate before. Bottom line is if you want a pristine finish on your boots Viberg is not for you. Every Viberg I have ever seen (which is over a dozen pair) has some mark on them. I agree this particular example is more extreme than usual, but I've seen similar on boots I've received as well. I don't see why shell should be any different- expect less than 100% clean finishes- this is what Viberg does.

It's all a moot point really because everyone who has dealt with them knows they'll take them back and refund the money.

I agree with you Aviv. We had this debate a number of times but same defect on two pairs? Come on.

I don't think anybody logged in, waited for the few minutes you have to order, and made a deposit looking forward to the Viberg refund policy. I really hope Viberg can replace or repair for those that experienced this issue.

like I said, Drew will get back to me on this Monday. I am hopeful that Viberg will stand behind their product.

but I don't expect less than perfect quality when I make any full price purchase from any brand.

I get your sentiment, but this is what I'm talking about. Define "perfect"?
