You're asking the wrong people! No justification needed.

Two different animals and two different lasts.  I might be crazy not to have both.

The 2060 & 2021 soles wear very well. I love them and own multiple pairs on vibram soles and on the 110 last. I have other pairs with leather - no danite. The vibram sole is noticeably more comfortable for city walking. That said, I have the half Japanese and the Context 2045 and love those too. I will buy pretty much anything on the 110 vibram or leather. I would also love to see more variety other than 2030s. I know they all sell out but, other than a few exceptions (Context, Mowhak), US stock lists really haven't offered much else. The Bureau Belfast always has several offerings each season and none of them are 2030s (most are 110s) and those sell out too. This last MTO round was so excellent, I wish I would have purchased every 110 offered. Would be nice to try something different.

I didn't think so.

I bought these at the last NYC sample sale. I'm really a 110 guy and the 2040 is definitely more snug all around, but with thin socks, they work well. I walked a long while with them the next day.

Those look great!  I'm a 110 guy, but I'd definitely like to see something like those offered!  Is that aged bark?

Good input on the Vibram soles. Thanks.

The bison is way tougher than the new horsehide. The latter is garment weight. As others mention, totally different leathers. I picked up the bison and they are by far the toughest and stiffest leather I've seen on Vibergs aside from the context horse butt.

A very similar make just was put up. Main difference I can see is the cap toe.
Otherwise looks the same: country derby, tobacco, 2040 last, blind eyelets.

The welt is different too.  Would have preferred stitched down vs storm welt.

The bison is thicker than my latigo but it has been an easier break in.  That is more about the last difference than the leather i guess.  1035 vs 2030

I don't know what these are.   They were in the lineup at the sample sale and I just snagged them.  I've not seen the Aged Bark in person.   Before the NYC sample sale, I had not seen this leather on Viberg until the most recent offerings like the Tobacco Chamois Derby Boots they have on the VB website now.   Whatever it is, I really like it.

Agree needs to be stitchdown, even GYW with a cap toe I might have given it a shot...in size 12 the country derby looks a little goofy without the cap toe to break up the long vamp...at least in the pictures I have seen of larger sized ones. My issue really is coming down to needing something different enough to wear...With the Context Horsebutts, Aged Bark Chukka on the way, Boondocker on the way, natty and black cxl service boots, navy service boot - really need something unique leather wise -

I am still lacking a waxed flesh but a ton were done in the GMTO's so I don't see much traction for a brown waxed flesh with rough out on the quarters. Also would like a real greenish olive color boot similar to the color on the Lost and Found boot.

Have you seen the latest Truman boot w/dark green leather?

(the link says navy... but I think they just recycled it from their last boot in navy, which sold out quickly...)
