I seen the sale for the last round in may but think people here mentioned another one around nowish. And does it pop up in this thread or just in the general forums when these samples sales arise?

if you look in previous pages, you'll see that Guy posts announcements here when they're going to happen. as far as i know, there doesnt seem like there will be another one coming up soon but i could be wrong. the actual sales thread is separate from this.

Two questions about the new Service Boots from the website, if anyone knows:

1.  Are the black cordovans and horsehides 5" or 6" boots?

2.  I am curious as to why the new versions of the Service Boots have that overhang at the back of the heel (pic below).  This overhang was always one thing I didn't like about White's block heel, and Viberg was closer to flush; but now it is more like a White's heel.  Is there some functional reason for this in the build?  Or just aesthetic?

Aesthetically I prefer it. Work boots should be chunky. You can get a sleek boot from say Alden that's more "dressy" and you'll probably be happier with.

My recent arrival from the last round of the sample sale. Mahogany shell service boot. Upon arrival these boots were pretty dry as the sample sale photos show. However, after some saphir and some brushing the luster of the shell came right out.

After:

I was stoked to have gotten first dibs on these and the team at Viberg were fantastic to deal with. There was some talk about customer service from a forum member and I must say that the service I have received has been nothing short of impressive. I ended up with 4 pairs of shoes from the sample sale and each was shipped promptly, with tracking provided. There was a delay in the shipping of the last batch of sample sale shoes, but it was simply due to the guys being out of the country, and they made sure to communicate this, both via email and on this thread. Email responses to any questions I had came from Guy and Morgan at all hours of the day. Morgan was even kind enough to accommodate a special shipping request I had, unlike most other retailers I have dealt with. I certainly look forward, and have no hesitation in making future purchases from them. I think the quality of their service absolutely matches the quality of their product.

Hmm, I hadn't thought of it in terms of dressy vs workboot...  Though now that I do the overhung heel actually seems more dressy to me than a flush heel would -- or at least more "fashion" oriented.  Anyway, it's a small thing, and all a matter of personal taste, and however you slice it those are some great looking boots!
