Is vacation bad Idea as a gift?

Hello

Valentines day is coming and just wanted to hear some second opinions about buying flight tickets as a gift for my gf. We havent been together that long... something like four months but already live together (dont ask. it just happened.). She's 21 and I'm 24. I don't like to buy expensive gifts to girls. They should be interested in me for my self, not the stuff I buy for them. The girl is total 10 so she could get some sugar daddy for herself If she wanted but thats not going to be me.

First I just thought about buying her some pastry she really likes, but then I thought that maybe I could get something bit more exiting.

We have already discussed about going for vacation this summer. She haven't travelled lot and talks lot about really wanting to go somewhere. So it came to my mind to make it happen.

Just dont want to seem like a total wuss trying to string her to me with a vacation gift but if she wants to live with me don't see why she would feel stressed about thing like this.

Tickets would not be that expensive and it would be win-win situation because I really would like to go to vacation myself.

Why are you even asking? An expensive piece of jewelry is something different, but a vacation you go on together? I don't see why not.

This just happened to a friend of my girlfriend and while she didn't turn down the gift she did complain that she couldn't afford restaurants, airfare, etc. at the time. Long story short, if you want it to truly be a gift, expect to pay for everything.
