Dunno, but they are cheap (would never pay much for white shoes) and canvas which means that unlike suede they could be cleaned.

No, you can just buy a new set of buttons. Not a big deal at all, and I'm not crazy about the buttons on there now anyway. But the asking price is a good sum for light blue linen. Hope you can talk them down a significant amount.

Oxxford Suit

Comments?

Seems to be a lot of money for what it is, but does anyone have comments on the style/cut/fabric? What vintage do you think that suit is?

Thanks...

You've said it! You can do better for an older used Oxxford suit. The styling is distinctive so you should be absolutely sure that you like it. Are you OK with an unvented coat. And the side waist pant adjustors indicate that it might have been a MTM suit. Do you like the adjustor look?

Finally the inside pocket tag (the one that says "Non Pareil" is the older style) that was dropped about 10 years ago. So the suit is a minimum of 10 years old and probably older.

Finally the seller has a $450 BIN and says that he will reject any offer of less than %75 of that price. So his bottom line is about $350. I would only do it if you are absolutely certain that this specific suit is what you want and if you don't have the time or patience to search further. You can do better IMO.

Of course you have to find your proper size but as an example aportnoy just sold a 100% Cashmere Oxxford suit for considerably less right here on the SF B&S sales forum and it was probably newer. You will definitely see used Oxxford suits for less here and on Ebay.

This is my feeling as well -- I realize the price is likely four times what the suit is worth on the 'open market'. The issue is that I have a very difficult time finding anything even resembling my size, so when something comes up, it is hard not to get excited. I am trying to fill in my suit selection after buying some new MTM suits, and having a really difficult buying anything used/on sale because my size is next to impossible to find other than full custom/MTM...

My search for suits that fit AND are a good deal seems to be a one in a thousand (million?) proposition.. I will continue to search (or wait until this one is relisted at a more realistic starting price/BIN)

Ahh the joys of being a 37/38 Tall....

It's worth about $100 max. Offer them that and if they don't take it, move on.
