That suit is also not a 40, otherwise I would've bought it. It is about 1-1.5 inches to big in the shoulder and 1-2 inches too big in the chest to be a 40. The pants are also supposed to be a 34 waist. That suit is in a weird place between 40-42.

Nice RLPL quality, and I do like Hacking jackets in general.

But what occasion would call for a Black Velvet Hacking Jacket?

I think most people would consider it a styling flourish. Most probably have no idea what a hacking jacket is. I would say that it is probably fine for non-formal evening wear.

This baby will go high. If you like Vintage overcoats, it doesn't get any better than an Oxxford King's Vicuna:

BTW: kitonbrioni, don't you collect vintage vicuna overcoats? Where other than Ebay do you get them?

Beautiful coat, but the shoulder measurement is more like a 40(L) than 42-44. Do you think it's just a careless and/or busy seller?

I think he's careless and doesn't know clothes. I emailed him about condition and he emailed back immediately. I think he just took a haphazard measurement.

I can't believe no one has bought this yet. I would be all over it in 38R.

OK, who bought this? Great buy! I am jealous. I know for sure it's someone here because you also bought the Aquascutum pocket square

Don't you mean "The Official StyleForum Pocket Square"?

An interesting item from Blondys Bay:

Perfect for the groom of a Chinese wedding?

Or perhaps a Vietnamese Jewish boy's Bar Mitzvah!

Where would you wear it? And with what shoes of course?

I suppose you're right. It looks nice though. I have one TM suit bought in Paris many years ago. 'Normal' lapels and beige wool, but has the 'trademark' curvy lines at the front.
