Summer Housing Suggestions(NYC) - Page 2

Okay so here's another idea: you're an NYU student. I imagine that some of your fellow students will be interning in other cities this summer, correct? Why not just sublet from one of your classmates who will not be in NYC for the summer?

Yeah, if you have local connections...how can you not find somewhere? Maybe you know someone who has an apartment but is doing an internship somewhere else?

30 minutes more a day for ???? more a day in rent

Can't be 50 more a day, that's $1500 more a month

NYU dorms could be decent in the summer as the dbag concentrations are safely low

And if they're $1000/mo it's a no brainer, you won't get your own place for that cheap on the island outside of the Heights (TATO TATO DIMELO MI PANA)....

NYU sounds like the best bet, if the numbers I'm reading are right ($1K/mo)

Bay Ridge? Shit, I have a friend that commutes from there to Jersey City every day. If he can do that with banking type hours then you can commute to FiDi or mid-town, or wherever your work will be, just fine for 3 months. Save your money, buy cool shit and go on a nice trip when it's over.

Are you retarded. Even if you took a cab everyday to work, do you think it would come close to $1400 a month? If you can't even figure out these financials on your own, I feel bad for you when you start banking....

Lol. A cab from where I live to midtown cuts 15-20 minutes off my commute for $37. So, let's say I cab it 30 times a month, thats rent. $1110. My commute to midtown/wall is 70 minutes by subway, cab is no better because of traffic. so I can room with someone at NYU for a 20 minute commute at 285 a week = $1140 Or I can get a single for 325 or 360 / week if I anticipate any sort of social life. = $1300-1440 source: http://www.nyu.edu/summer/housing/overview_rates.htm or I can find or split a spot with better economics than this, which was the purpose of this thread. Anyway, how are you liking Damodaran's class?
