OLED TV's are going to be amazing. There are a couple models out at present, but I believe they're small and very expensive. Unlike LED backlit LCD TV's, OLED screens actually generate light in each pixel so they have near perfect blackness levels.

I would recommend buying something very economical for now, or just staying with what you already have, until OLED becomes more mainstream and affordable.

OLED is going to be a long time for it to be mainstream. Probably in 5 years.

I have an 32" LCD myself and have to say, anything bigger and your shrunk and copied DVDs will look like crap.

I'm staying at 32" because I have no high def media.

Get an upconverting DVD player with an HDMI cable and it will be near HD quality.

Just asking

With a bigger screen you will see images much more clearly than you can on a 25 of 32 inch screen. I'm not saying that you would need to buy a 60 inch television, but even a 42 inch screen would make a remarkable difference.

Most of my DVDs have been shrunk to single layer DVD-R, and I'd have to buy a receiver the supports high def before anything.

I'll upgrade to high def once everything I have breaks down and I have no choice. Until then, It's not a big deal to me. My hi def LCD tv has always been plugged up with composite cables anyway heh.

Mine is already 120hz and I don't really go online on my TV but I am curious, does it improve or make streaming movies from CPU easier/better? I am currently using my PS3 and it works fine but has some lag times at times, especially when the scene is action oriented and frame rates needs to be faster or something like that.

Personally, if I was to buy a 32-inch, I would just get the LCD with 720P.

No need to pay the price premium for the LED or 1080P since it won't really matter on any screen below 40-inch.

What software did you use to shrink the DVDs? The encoder makes all the difference in the world. Also, I use an HTPC to play DVDs and pc software does a much better job of upscaling than a typical dvd player. I'm really impressed with the way DVDs look on my setup.

42-46" is reasonably small and light. One man can move it around with his arms without fear of breakage. Since the aspect ratio is 16 x 9 instead of the old 4 x 3, the total screen area is a lot less than you'd think. That's why anything smaller is disappointing.

LED, 1080p, 120 Hz, HDMI and analog video inputs, and by all means get one with side-by-side view of two channels at once.
