However this watch definitely seems to have some of that bluish hue to the dial. With the reversed straps and the bluish dial, did I get a fake??

This is just Seiko's style. A lot of their watches come like this.

I read an interview with the bartender who designed the watch saying it is to present your best side to the customers, but that doesn't really explain why so many other Seikos come this way.

I have an Equus strap coming to replace the stock one. I don't mind the black bridle leather with the navy, but I don't find it that comfortable.

It's a nice watch.  If it'snot too late, I would decrease the size of the company name on the dial, seems to big to me.

In addition, when presenting a watch in a photo, most manufacturers will show it with the time at 10:10, and the second hand at around the 30 second mark.  This apparently is a watch's most attractive "pose".

Edit - just realized you don't have a second hand.  Perhaps consider adding one.  The sweeping second hand adds to the appeal on automatic watches.

Mine also doubles up as a field watch at work on occasions. It's not solar but I prefer the ABC functions and styling more so than any Casio.

Here's my Core on a recent kayaking trip on a local lake. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Is this local lake Lake Erie? The scenery and the spacing of the towers really looks like the area around the Fermi nuclear plant and Pointe Mouilee near Monroe, Michigan.

@HenryBlake

I like the case, the restrained aesthetic and your packaging.

I don't like the cheap quartz movement, the PVD black and "gold" stuff, or the empty "features" (e.g. "quick release springbar" like every other watch in the window).  There are so many products like this popping up, I fear you might struggle with differentiation.

But, I'm not your target market, and my daughter made me buy her a Daniel Wellington last month. Anything could happen and I wish you well. :)

Hi mimo,

thanks for the comment, and also thanks that you like our case. I really like our case and packaging.

I hope that your daughter makes you buy Henry Blake watch in the further :)

I like the strap and leather work. I agree that the logo could be smaller.

What is the price point? 40mm always seems a bit big to me.

Hi MSchapiro,

The straps and the leather work are really good, and we will change the logo to be smaller. The watch is in 2 different sizes 40mm and 34mm

We are launching in a couple of weeks. Make sure to subscribe to our affiliate thread

If subscribe, you can get a complimentary leather strap :)

When we put the watch on kickstarter the price for Limited edition including complimentary leather strap USD 149

Watch looks okay to me. I'd prefer the 40mm version to be 38mm, though, and automatic would be better.

Just picked up a Suunto Core All Black for $251 shipped. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

I think its a solid value proposition for the price.
