Thanks my man. It's by Jhane Barnes, I collect her shirts, very unique designs.

Those are Carmina cordovan boots, Forest last.

Gorgeous!  I only have Carmina on the Rain; suit my bendy wide forefoot well.  Not sure how the Forest fits?

Anyway, back to watches: gift ideas for a quartz watch (yes, I did say that) for a lady, classic style, respectable brand, can be used if there's a bargain. Under $500.  What do you say?

I'm guessing Michael Kors is out of the question?

There was, around a year or 2 ago I believe, a beautiful Bulova Precisionist ladies watch, with MOP dial and diamonds/CZ bezel. It came both on metal bracelet or leather band. I remember wanting to buy it for my wife, but didn't. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be made anymore, according to Bulova's website.

Citizen (Eco-Drive) and Seiko also have some solid ladies watches.

Another option which popped on my FB feed is this Tissot model. I don't know why exactly, but it stroke me as beautiful.

I realize all of the above fall short of your $500 mark and/or respectable brands. Sure, they aren't considered "luxurious" by any mean, but they all deliver nice, reliable products given the price!

Also check chrono24 and the 'bay. Private sellers (as opposed to dealers) are generally cheaper, but as the saying goes, "Buy the seller, not the watch."

I apologize for replying so late, I missed the notification for this. This list is really helpful, thanks for sharing!

I wanted a fun weekend watch, and a $150 Swatch Sistem51 beats a $3,000 Alain Silberstein.

I know these are not poor man's but are there any opinions on Davidoff watches? I found one that caught my eye at an incredible discount.

I'd look on watchuseek. I remember seeing a thread on their watches there because of the Ashford sales.

My feeling is that it's more of a jewelry watch.
