I was just looking at that model online this evening. My wife thinks it's hideous. I was set on a vintage Omega Speedmaster, but I've seen some very nice looking Seikos. The Blue Spark that someone else posted is stellar; would love to be able to find one of those for sale.

Some thoughts:

1.) Fake Tourbillon's look terrible, I'm not sure why some of these companies clutter up what is otherwise an attractive affordable automatic watch with a fake tourbillon.

2.) Vintage restored is definitely the way to go if you don't mind spending the time.

3.) These Seiko Automatics look really good for the money, I can't believe I don't own one.

I have a Tag F1 Chrono as my daily. I just got it back from Tag Factory Resto, as it flooded when I was in a POOL. Lame.

Good thing I got it for free, lol. Company gimme from a merger.

I like watches too much and so I try to avoid looking at them, posting about them, or entertaining their purchase. I don't want to wake up next to a Ulysse Nardin and a credit card bill like a bad one night stand.

What on earth is a fake tourbillon? Are you confusing open hearts with a tourbillon?

Some nice looking stuff on that manbush site. Anyone speak to the longevity/quality of those pieces?

I'm liking some of the Seikos posted previously, but somehow the Seikos I see in my local stores are never as nice as the ones you guys post in this thread and others like it.

At any rate, this thread has got me pumped to visit Wako in the Ginza where I can finally see some of these poor-man's Seiko beauties in person!
