What did that cost you? Was the strap separate?

I find the strap a bit too red for my tastes. I would go with a med or dark brown.

Anyone know if Seagull watches are sold by any retailers in the US? I think they look pretty awesome, and I'd like to see one in person.

Thanks in advance

That looks like the Seiko Spark to me.  Its a JDM model.  SCVS013

It was a hot seller when it was still being made.  Great watch for under $500.  You might be able to find them pre loved if you search around.

I personally love the Seiko SARB line being made today.

SF Affiliate Vendor Kent Wang has a new automatic that is pretty cheap ($350):

I was thinking about posting that Kent Wang watch here. Closest match to a Blue Spark currently out there? Looks like a nice watch but at 42mm it's a little too big for my taste/wrist.

So the strap is certainly browner in person. Like I said, the lighting was weird :\ In fact, it is the Hirsch Duke in Golden Brown ($40). Beautiful strap. The other option would be regular brown, but I found the golden brown more striking but still understated enough for my taste.

The watch is the Orient CEM6w001D. This set me back $110 shipped. Just gorgeous. Perfect size too at 44mm with crown IMO (my own measurement. Internet says 45mm).

The (optional) deployant clasp is the RHD deployant clasp in 20mm ($40). It is better quality than any of the other deployant clasps I have tried.

All told, $190 total. A steal if you ask me. My most elegant piece.

Cheap + affordable + quality + accuracy = Seiko.

Don't bother with other brands unless you love a particular style.

Please allow me a question as a non-watch expert: Why do these qualities not apply equally well to Citizen Eco-Drive?

Anti-black magic bump.

What's the general opinion of Movado museum watches with leather bands? I have three with which I am very happy (I'm not a fan of any of the other Movados).

Hey guys,

Could you please point me in the direction of a simple and elegant poor man's watch around the $300-500 price range?

Preferably I'd like one:

- Made by a Japanese company (seiko etc)
- Minimalist with white face

- Stainless steel

- Leather band

I absolutely loved this watch but it seems its been discontinued:
