I'm afraid I have to agree, they look like crap. They look like Technomarine watches.

I know this watch doesn't fit in with the aesthetic of most of the other watches in this thread, but I must admit that I'm truly enamored with this watch.  A true conversation piece.  (Mine arrives on Wed.)

Unless that's real wood, send it back.

That watch looks like an 80's weight scale.

I dunno, I kind of like it. But it you wore it the rest of your ensemble had better look like this:

It's real wood (teak, to be exact).  I find fake wood to be even worse than fake leather and "pre-distressing."

It has also come in walnut and bamboo in years past, as well as their "dark wood" offering now.

Then it's weird but kinda cool.

Hate the Volcom logo on it but I think it's better than wearing a big bracelet or something.

just picked this up for $110, that should qualify for the poor man thread:

Looks like a bathroom scale.

Looks good. Is this the same one?

Can you feel or hear the automatic winder in there or is it pretty fluid?

I'm thinking of getting one more. But haven't set my eyes yet. First impression is that the watch is very thick and the stock strap is hideous. Might be looking at some leather nato strap to go with it.

Nice. Which site did you buy it from?

I bought an automatic parnis IWC portugese homage from manbushijie a while ago I believe... The automatic was really clunky and I could audibly hear it wind everytime I shifted my hand. Does this one have a similar issue? How's it feel?

This is a case where the display back is not a good idea. Mind The Gap!
That one is pretty bad all around.

If you didn't know just how much better the design could be (i.e. from the IWC they ripped off), it wouldn't be a terrible watch.

I actually like it. In person, the dial is quite nice. Obviously, it's no IWC, but it's a nice looking mechanical watch at a ridiculous price point.

The display backs on all the Parnises are pretty facepalm.gif But it is what it is for $100.
