Really nice. Is that CWC? (can't make it out)

Thanks, yes indeed. The band is a replacement, forgot where i got it, but the hardware on it is black oxide.

Thanks for the input earlier in the thread guys, after going shopping the sales person led me to this little beauty rather than the other two. Going to end up costing me less than a $100, which is always nice. There should be no problem dressing this one with a suit right (the original purpose of the watch, though this one is more versatile than what I was looking at before)? Thanks for the input.

I am sure there are a ton of these, but here is my real poor man's watch.  I possibly should have picked a more pleasing angle for the picture.

i like the strap. where'd you get that from

Nice looking Timex and strap. Total cost?

I got the strap from www.watch-band-center.com.  It came to about $27 shipped to the U.S.  The watch itself was $29.50 shipped from Amazon.

The strap site had a really great selection, the strap itself is made in Germany by Graf, who I hadn't heard of before.  It was my first encounter with "box calf" leather.

Well, here is my Frankenstein.
I put this combination together for under $100. (Watch, strap, clasp)

I elected to go with contrast stitching on the band. Looks smashing.
I am very pleased with the outcome, and look forward to years of use and abuse.
