I got it from Watch Band Center. It's the least expensive shell cordovan one made by Fluco. I wasn't expecting much, given the relatively low cost, but am pleasantly surprised by the apparent quality. Hopefully it's well made enough to last for a while.

I've had a Seiko Alpinist for a while. Never been too excited over the stock band.

Finally picked up a cigar shell cordovan band for the watch. Like it much better now.

Ive been wanting this for a while. Did you get this in Japan?
Didn't get it in Japan. Bought it from an internet seller. I think he was based out of Singapore. (been a while, so I can't remember who it was.)

There are a few of them on ebay.

The alpinist is one of my favorite watches. Like it better than some of my more expensive Swiss ones.

If you have $500 to $999 to spend on a watch....you ain't poor!

I personally consider 200/300 getting to be pretty expensive for a watch. I'm not wealthy by any stretch and nor does it seem like I will be in the future. =)

Just received my first Parnis. Well, 2 of them - on the strength of this thread I bought one for my brother for his birthday, but while on the site, I couldn't resist one for myself, too. They arrived yesterday and today is my first day with my pilot.

I have to say, for a hundred fucking bucks, the quality, weight, and finish of this thing is un-farking-believable.

Damn! That's a handsome watch!!! Now that's what I'm talking about, a quality, good looking time piece that is within the reach of just about anyone who cares to wear a watch in the first place. I really don't know how guys are buying $500, $600 or $900 watches and posting them here as "poor man's" choices. I don't want to take the "poor man" designation to literally but c'mon, a $600 watch doesn't belong in this thread....
