Wow.

Best strikeout pitcher in baseball with probably the best or 2nd best power pitching arsenal. Only 24, his gf is recently pregnant. Had a tough childhood defecting from Cuba and worked hard to fulfill his potential then later coming back from Tommy Johns. Undisputed ace of the franchise since his rookie season. Had a great personality, a joy to watch. One of the only bright spots for the Marlins in the past few seasons. He was my favorite pitcher not on the Red Sox.

The Jays about to whomp Ethan's janquiz for a third consecutive game.

I'm actually less gleeful and more a little sad Eth' doesn't get to see his boys in the WC game.

Went to the Barves game last night--and the remaining five home games this season. I'm going to miss the shit out of going to games (the moving deal was really shitty and is in a logistically difficult place to get to), walking to the stadium and getting a $1 ticket on a whim.

Anyway, braved a 30-minute delay to the start, an hour-or-so delay in the 5th and hung around until the end of the 7th.

Lemme just say--it's a shit ton of fun being in a stadium like that with maybe 200 other people. You can sit anywhere other than the first two rows which are super plush. You can hear all the jeers.

I was waiting for the umps to come out (I'm an ump myself) and gave them all high fives, they were surprised someone would be stoked to see them and say "good luck fellow ump!"

Thought of the perfect taunt to Ryan Howard: "HE PEAKED A DECADE AGO, DON'T BE AFRAID" but realized he hit a grand slam earlier in the game and we were losing so best to keep that one to myself.

Bat boy gave me a ball but I just wanted to catch it, gave it to the kid in front of me.

Honestly I'm not happy at all about not getting these experiences anymore.

Going to baseball games is the best.

Does anyone know how I can stream the last Dodgers- Giants games?

I secured those same dirty TV pit seats for the WC game. If the Jays keep dumping to Boston I'll have just secured myself some bits of paper. Arghh..cmon boys.

Just like Lenny Dykstra's big contract year.

AL MVP? I think Trout should get it. He should've had four by now. Mookie hasn't even been the most valuable player on the Red Sox, Papi has provided way more clutch hits. This is coming from a Red Sox fan. Trout is perhaps the best hitter who has ever lived short of Ted Williams. It's unfair to blame him for the Angels' organizational failure.

Trout wont get it because the voters are stupid and want the MVP to be on a winning/playoff team.

Went to Turner Field's final game, will share pics later.

Despite the fact GSU will have a transformational moment when the purchase of the site is complete, I am still legitimately sad about the Braves move. The new location is logistically challenging enough to deter me from going to games and the raw deal they gave the taxpayers of Cobb County means I will only go if I get free weekend/playoff tickets. (The latter is at least a few year away unless we get some 91-esque mojo goin' on).

There's something that really just eats at you about your hometown team leaving. Some of my earliest and fondest memories are Braves games and I'm never going to get new ones.

Anyway, the ceremony was largely good--the speeches were excellent. But some of it was so cheesy that my mood was killed.

I thought the most amusing part of the night was that I was like, you know, there's something to be said for going to a poorly-attended game when I missed an inning-and-a-half waiting in line for food.

The main road leading to Turner Field has a bunch of barricades with TURNER FIELD HOME OF THE BRAVES POLICE LINE plates on them. So yesterday I rode my bike over and attempted to remove one. However, THE FASCIST PIGS STILL HAD SECURITY CAMERAS and a couple of security officials came up and were like "can I help you?" I shoulda said "can you lend me a hand over here" but went with "is this still Braves property?" I guess that's fair as they are still organizing events there for the rest of the year HOWEVER! One barricade seemed largely forgotten out of view of security cameras. I will attempt to abscond with that plate at a later date.

I went to the last game at Giants' Stadium and the guys who have been sitting behind us my whole life tried to take their seat numbers off. You could hear them trying to chisel them off out at the food stands so needless to say they were escorted out. Never liked those guys anyway.
