They should defer to the courts.

Punishing for the future gives people an instant gratification but doesn't last long. They'll suck for a few years and be good again and people will quickly forget about it in about 12 years.

I'm pretty sure nobody involved in it (or similar conduct) gives a shit what people think about the franchise 100 years from now when they're dead and people who don't know anything about baseball history wonder why there was a year with no official champion last century (assuming they would, which seems unlikely).

People remember the Black Sox scandal and the ramifications. But I don't think it's seen as a black eye for the ChiSox franchise today. It's a historical event that colors our view of the folks who were actually involved.

i get your point. and you're probably right.  but the black sox never won anything and weren't stripped of anything either.   maybe pete rose would be a better example. his hit record will probably never be official at the HOF.  kids will always ask, what happened to pete rose?

this whole discussion is super hypothetical. as a dedicated cardinals hater, i'd rather have them lose their world series title than say, lose a few draft picks/miss a few playoffs.  maybe we can demote them to the AAA. :D

Ah, of course - fair point about the Sox. Duh.

Dodgers have left nearly 100 men on base in the last few games/week. JFC…

and thank goodness No-mar is No-where near the mic tonight.

Now there's something you don't see every day… or ever. 1-0 win in the bottom of the 9th on a balk from 3rd. Wow.

Verlander gave Arod the old bp fastball.

They would not get that ball back from me unless some cash came my way. I would have given the stadium security my name and number and called an Uber and went home.

I would demand uncracked game used bats from Alex, Tex, and Gardner.

I would demand cold hard cash.

Oh great, this jackass caught the ball: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/notorious-ball-hawk-zack-hample-catches-a-rod-s-3-000th-hit-001101863.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc_trk=tw

I think this sums it up nicely

Neil Keefe retweeted Mike Gavin

No one likes you, @zack_hample because no one likes a grown man who brings his glove to MLB games.

IDK… minor league asshole catches major league asshole's HR? Seems pretty fitting to me. It's just unbelievable though to think of what are the chances it actually is that guy? The odds are astronomical.
