^ Unfortunately, as of now, bullpen is close to shitting it up.

I hope he stays

I turned on our local Detroit sports talk radio station, this morning, and they were chattering about and bemoaning the Doug Fister trade--still--as if it just happened yesterday. Will this be our "curse" forever? Along the lines of the Cubs "Curse of the Billy Goat" or the Red Sox "Curse of the Bambino"? The way some people react, one would think so.

The Tigers, offensively, are under performing--absolutely. But, this is not a time of crisis and panic. We are right in the thick of it in the AL Central.

Defensively, we have not seen such quality play in years. The pitching staff--filled with unknowns--has, by and large, kept us alive. We are near the top without Verlander, without Scherzer, without Porcello, and yes, without Fister.

Speaking of Porcello, why would the Red Sox have paid so much money for a pitcher who is not the kind of pitcher one would want in a ballpark like Fenway? Porcello, in the vast space of Comerica park with the new improved defense, would thrive if he were a Tiger. He is not a great pitcher. But, when he is on is game and has decent backup, he is very good. Often, as a Tiger, he had mediocre defense to work with.

Am I the only one who thinks that Willie Bloomquist looks exactly like Justin Verlander?

lol

Still distracted by the fact that "The Los Angeles @Angels" baseball team literally translates to "The The Angels Angels"

I would disagree with Mr. (Dr.?) Tyson. It translates to "Los The Angels Angeles."

In 2011 when Joe Posnanski solicited help on Twitter asking which two announcers people would rather have call the World Series than the then Fox duo of Joe Buck and Tim McCarver, McCarthy chose Vin Scully and somebody to bring Scully water.

now only if vin can pitch out of the bullpen for us...:brick:

Oh snap that's hilarious. Scully and somebody to bring him water. I hadn't heard that. Yeah the bullpen has been shaky, but it looks like Yaz has his mojo back a bit since returning!

It's only free if we win. Thank goodness tonight it's free. biggrin.gif I thought it would go extras though I hear you. Puig scores the game winner… nice.
