4) It is still only May.

It's damn near an idiom.

1) Two time defending AL West Champs
2) In first place behind some really excellent young players and all around top notch baseball. . . with a payroll of five bucks and a dime bag.
3) Went three pages back and the only mention is a Padres trade rumour that might involve the A's

Speaking of which, I think the main cause of all of these injuries are breaking pitches. Look at Mariano and Bartolo Colon. They both only throw fastballs and haven't had problems. When you start snapping your wrist in odd directions for the breaking pitches you probably put micro-tears in your UCL.

Where is Dr. Larry to confirm?!

Just listened to a piece on this. Also to blame year round ball for youngins, bigger, stronger, and harder throwing pitchers.

Hard throwing is not correlated with torn UCLs. I don't think any existing pitch data is predictive. We would need 3D model of wrist snaps on breaking balls to really predict when someone is in danger of tearing their UCL, I think.

I have no idea what I'm talking about. Just listened to a piece on this from an interview with an SI writer. Is UCL torn corrected by Tommy John?

Copasetic??????? Where did he come up with that word!

A nice Tiger victory at Baltimore. Porcello's record is 6-1. Ian Kinsler is....as the commercial says....priceless.

"Copacetic" is actually one of those buzzwords that often pops up when people are trying to sound cool, smart, and/or ironic.

Velocity and Tommy John has been studied to death and there is no correlation. People just like to point to guys like Harvey and Strasburg and use that as proof of their availability heuristic.
