Frees up money for Max even though they'll likely eat some money on fielders monster contract.

Cabrera goes back to 1B and Castellanos their best prospect goes to his natural position at third. Give us a closer and they are back in business.

Good trade for both

Nooooooooooooooo the Yankees signed Brian McDouche.

Adios, Doug Fister. And, there might be more surprises coming.
I cannot remember such a busy off season for the Tigers.
It was neat seeing Jim Leyland as the Grand Marshall of the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Detroit.

And...Donnie Kelly will be back! biggrin.gif

I generally agree with DD but not this one. Fister was inexpensive, team controlled for 2 or so more years, pretty damn good numbers when you figure his performance to salary ratio.

Do not understand this one

Ok. It makes a little more sense knowing he was arbitration eligible. Was paid $4M last year and was going to get a fairly sizable raise this year.

Big pay raise or not, I still think we got Fisted on this deal by the Nats. I'm hoping that DD has something up his sleeve and is going to turn around and deal off some of those we got from Washington as part of a bigger deal.

Knowing his track record, he's got something cooking.

Brendan Ryan is staying on for 2 more years. I foresee a lot of DH time for Jeter.

That probably answers the David Robertson question over here! I hope Cashman goes after Breslow Balfour (been away from baseball too long!) as an 8th inning guy.

Hopefully Choo or Beltran.

I'm just happy that they are finally an organization players want to be a part of.

Well said. What a difference a few seasons make! On the flip-side though, I can see one way now how dynasties perpetuate themselves.
