Hamels came off as childish. He hit Harper just because he's gotten so much hype, and apparently finds it to be an MLB conspiracy for Harper to eventually succeed. Of course the MLB wants young superstars/faces of the league, but I'm not exactly sure how it's possible for the MLB to be "protecting" him: umpires not calling strikes? It seems that the MLB doesn't have much of a say in his success, as it is more of the Nationals who guide his career.

"That's something I grew up watching, that's kind of what happened. So I'm just trying to continue the old baseball because I think some people are kind of getting away from it," Hamels said. "I remember when I was a rookie the strike zone was really, really small and you didn't say anything because that's the way baseball is.

"But I think unfortunately the league's protecting certain players and making it not that old-school, prestigious way of baseball," Hamels added.

^I thought hitting Harper was pretty funny, but Hamels is delusional if he actually believes that shit.

Hunter Pence probably isnt too pleased with his pitcher right now, either...

I went to bed, last night, and the Tigers were winning. Fister, on his first outing since early April, was magnificent. This morning, I woke up only to learn that we lost 3-2. Again, the Tiger bats were silent. Our relief pitchers bungled the job. What happened to our so-called "murder's row"?

19 out of our next 24 games are on the road. Vah!

Apparently playing on the road for AL Central teams is much better than playing at home. I think Sunday FSD put a stat up that had the Tigers with the best home record in the Central at 8-9 before they lost that day.

Congrats to Valdespin. What a way to get your first hit and have it be a homerun.

Bobby Valentine was probably the worst choice ever for the Red Sox. He's an utter joke.

Almost another no hitter for Verlander. Still, it was a magical night at the ball park.

I was there. So close but no cigar. Damnit.

This morning's Freep had this headline: Oh No! No No-No

it would've been some 500 days since MLB debut sooner than nolan ryan's 3rd no hitter.

I've been avoiding looking at the standings for a while because I didn't even want to know. Turns out my Brewers are a half game out of last place. Maybe it's time to start rooting for my actual home town team. I do bleed Cardinal red, so maybe that is a sign from the Deity.

Go to the ballpark and order Cactus League Nachos.

It's been a while since I've gotten up to MKE to see a game. I enjoy watching baseball at Miller Park quite a lot. Never had the Cactus League Nachos, though, as I am very lactose intolerant.

I bet you could get them to hold the cheese and/or sour cream. These nachos fill up an entire batting helmet. smile.gif

Finally! The Tigers have back-to-back wins. First time since a month ago. Hopefully, this is the end of a month of mediocrity. I'm very impressed with replacement OF, Quintin Berry. Can we keep him on the rosters? Can he learn to play 2B?
