Finally the Tigers part with Brandon Inge. I never really got the love affair people had for him. Sure he was a Tiger for a long time, but that was just as much the Tigers being garbage as it was him being loyal. I doubt he could've gone too many other places over the years. It was amiable for the Tigers to keep with him once they turned the corner a few years back.
I always liked Inge's spirit and (sometimes) thrilling plays on the field. But, for the past year, his penchant for making excuses for his substandard play at the plate and on the field were hard to take. If he had just kept his mouth shut and tried his best, I would think of him in a better light. He could have had a graceful exit. He was kept on for so long only because the owner dictated it so. I don't feel too sorry for him. He's walking away with $5.5 million.
But, now, THIS story is done. NOW, we deal with Delmon Young!
Last night's loss to the Yankees was hard to take. What a terrible way to lose.
