OK I wikipediad the Rays Minor League teams and I have to say, they have the tastiest teams in the Minors... the Charlotte Stone Crabs, the Montgomery Biscuits... that's pretty alluring. But I would of course just become fans of the Biscuits themselves as I do love biscuits.

This team would have been stacked if everybody they had worked out from the hype standpoint. You would have had an outfield of Young, Hamilton, Baldelli and an infield of Huff Upton and Dukes (if he could have hit).

Maybe the Blue Jays then? It gives you a reason to visit Canada, and with the influx of huge cash from the new TV deal the Jays have begun their march to Uber rich, Big Spenders, National Team of Canada status.

You can pretend to have been a loyal fan ever since the Tony Fernandez days, and wax poetic about those super (steroid enhanced) mid 90's pitching staffs (Rodger Clemens, David Wells). You can also pretend to be Canadian by wearing a blue jays tshirt when on vacation in Europe just in case some anti-American shit goes down. The euros love Canadians (even though they are pretty much 92% american in every way shape and form).

I remember Clemens had a 50lbs dumbbell in the toronto dugout and would curl it in-between innings.

Finally the Tigers part with Brandon Inge. I never really got the love affair people had for him. Sure he was a Tiger for a long time, but that was just as much the Tigers being garbage as it was him being loyal. I doubt he could've gone too many other places over the years. It was amiable for the Tigers to keep with him once they turned the corner a few years back.

I was watching the post-game stuff and told someone sitting next to me that I thought he'd retired, as I just saw a graphic saying "Farewell, Brandon." She instantly went into denial about him being gone and how unbelievable it was that the Tigers would do that to him...

Nats are calling up Bryce Harper, who will make his major league debut on Saturday. Seems a bit early considering that Harper isn't ripping up AAA.

I always liked Inge's spirit and (sometimes) thrilling plays on the field. But, for the past year, his penchant for making excuses for his substandard play at the plate and on the field were hard to take. If he had just kept his mouth shut and tried his best, I would think of him in a better light. He could have had a graceful exit. He was kept on for so long only because the owner dictated it so. I don't feel too sorry for him. He's walking away with $5.5 million.

But, now, THIS story is done. NOW, we deal with Delmon Young!

Last night's loss to the Yankees was hard to take. What a terrible way to lose.

Eldred! With just one game, he looks like the real deal.

Plus another $500,000 I believe to buy out the rest of his contract. That loss was awful: one of the worst ways to lose a game. All I think of when I see Delmon Young is the clip of him throwing the bat at the umpire in the minors. It makes me feel like he's way older than his age.
