Dice K was a "power nibbler" which meant that when the scouting caught up with him he'd get shelled... he'd shy away from his plus 4 seam fastball (which could reach 97) and try to two seam a 91mph one on the corner and just take the walk or worst get hammered.
Darvish looks to be a normal tall power pitcher/curveball guy comparable to josh beckett... so if he's undisciplined and challenges too much he'll get shelled....I'm rooting for the guy... hopefully he's not hard headed and also gets used to the MLB baseballs (larger seams/stitching).

Is the mound closer to the plate in Japan, I honestly don't know.

No.

He's also nothing like Dice-K or the other Japanese pitchers (some of whom have actually been decent, if not worth their high price tags). He's younger has a different style of pitching... From what I've heard, barring injury or some severe culture shock/homesickness its hard to imagine him not being successful here.

Also--can you name the two Japanese baseball players with most wins in the MLB? number 2 will :mindfuck: you.

Without looking it up I'm going to go with Nomo and Kaz Ishii.

You would be correct.

Surprised he killed himself, not a bad being the second winningest Japanese pitcher. But I guess being known as the Fat Toad was too much for him.

Jamie Moyer to the Rockies. Oh no, that old man may get killed pitching out there.

You would be correct in that it was not him...
