1.5 Game Lead with 2 weeks to play. This weekend series could decide everything.

Oakland really gets helped out schedule-wise to lock up a wildcard spot. Play Texas and Philly the last 10 games of 13 remaining.

Did anyone see the end of the Royals game? God wants them in the playoffs.

2 outs, guy on second trying to steal 3rd and ends up scoring on a wild pitch. Tie game. 2 batters later, guy on second, Cain softly chops one directly at second base, no play, guy scores to walk off. ffffuuuu.gif

That's really only "lucking out" if you ignore the previous 149 games, no?

God bless the White Sox!

Last night was the second consecutive game where Rick Porcello pitched a really fine game. (8 innings) But, no run support. Dramatically, in the top of the 9th, JD Martinez hit a 3 run HR to put the Tigers ahead by a run. Then, reliever Sloppy Joe Nathan came out an blew it. Soria has got to become the main closer in a tight situation. Ausmus should have left Ricky in the game.

At least, we are still 1.5 games up. More like 2--that unfinished game with the Indians still remains to be completed.

Again, thank you, White Sox.

If that doesn't push Soria into the role, I don't know what will. I'll admit, Nathan has been decent of late, but he ALWAYS seems to give up a walk when it is a tight game.

Tonight is THE showdown between the Tigers and the Royals. The Tigers magic number is 11. Catcher, Alex Avila, is still out--not a good sign. Verlander on the mound makes me feel nervous. How things have changed. If it is a terrible game, I guess I can switch over to PBS and watch "The Roosevelts".
