Wow. Arod is due $6M this year even with suspension. Or about 6x more than what trout will make.

it does make me kind of laugh at the indians shelling out even more money for nick swisher though lol8[1].gif

think about this though... lebron james makes 19million/year and will make 20mill for the next two... LOL think about that...

Yeah, but the Sox Needed a starting outfielder. Yanks have Els, Ichiro, Soriano, Beltran...that's what I meant with 'Obscene'

...

Ichiro is gone next year if not this year and Sori is probably retiring. The extension starts next year so your point is...?

Someday the world will understand why Gardner is a valuable player and for more than just his numbers.

So good.

Also, Tanaka pitching the 5th and 6th innings this afternoon!

As advertised

Yeah, Gardner is worth that money. Complaining about it is silly.

Bold prediction: Jeter will lead the league in GIDPs. I would bat him 8th if I were Binder.

any of you guys going to your respective Opening Days?

we have about 27 days until Opening Day at Comerica. I have tickets, but at this rate it's going to be a balmy 30F at game time.

On Monday, before the start of the Tigers-Cardinals game in Lakeland, a brass quintet from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra played the National Anthem, Leonard Slatkin conducted. The orchestra is on tour in Florida. Maestro Slatkin is a die-hard baseball fan--especially the Cardinals. For many years, he conducted the St Louis Symphony. He's not in the picture, but he was wearing a Tigers jersey, also.

Way too cold for this guy. I stop going to football games in November and don't start going to baseball games until June.

I am going to go the day after opening day. Cheaper parking!
Tentatively, I am going to one of the games when the Tigers travel to Boston in May.

I've never been to an opening day game but it's about a 50/50 chance that I'll be down there drinking around Comerica as I am most years. We're just too cheap to go to the actual game on that day. We will be in Florida the last two weeks of March and are going to try to make it to a Tigers spring training game. However we may have to settle for the BoSox since it's much much closer to where we are staying and I try to do as little driving as possible when I am on vacation.

Don Kelly is definitely making the 25 man roster.

There's no doubt. Aside from the crappy news about Iglesias, it seems like everyone is firing on all cylinders in spring.
