oh no, he's totally a 1st ballot HOF'er. Just like his most similar analytics comparison player Craig Biggio should be.

he's got longevity, very good offensive output, played a premium defensive position (albeit not great, but adequately a large chunk of his career), and all those ancillary things like many world series wins, and hero moments galore.

There was an interesting tidbit in this morning's Detroit Free Press stating that the three longest serving members of the Detroit Tigers roster are Verlander (8 years), Cabrera (6 years), and Porcello (6 years).

Earlier, this week, there was a list of of the tenure of the current Detroit professional coaches. It went something like this:

Babcock - 3,000+ days
Ausmus - 100 days
Caldwell - 28 days
Loyer - 1 day

Tanaka tossing with Kuroda before throwing a bullpen. So it begins...

Ubaldo Jimenez to the O's. Do they know he was an 11.72 ERA against the Sox in 4 starts?

Not falling for the troll bait but.. the HOF is essentially a marketing tool so he belongs in there from that standpoint. He's certainly one of the best of his generation but probably not in the elite of all time, if that makes sense. He also, as our Doctor of Love says, have a high peak of performance that lasted a long time.

Brad is pushing the lethargic Tigers to be more pro-active and better at defense. When yesterday's drills did not produce the expected result, Ausmus said that he needed to "reiterate some of the same points tomorrow morning, just to make sure everyone has clarification as to where they are supposed to be." When was the last time that a baseball manager used the term "reiterate"? That Dartmouth degree is showing up. smile.gif

Proving that Ruben Amaro Jr. is not only an incompetent GM, but also a huge, huge dick: http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/phillies/20140221_Report__NCAA_probes_Phils__accusations_against_draft_picks.html

What does this guy need to do to finally get fired?

Oh, Miggy won't need the Cadillac. He will borrow Verlander's brand new Lamborghini instead.

I feel kind of embarrassed for Verlander hanging out with Kate Upton. He deserves a classy broad.

^ Weird...I admire him for it.
