Tigers lose 13 - nada

At the end of the game, watching the game on TV and seeing at all the empty seats, my first thought was "I feel sorry for all those people who paid money and endured the heat." Glad that you had that beer. You deserved it!

I can't believe that the Tigers were unable to score at least one stinking run.

Onward and Upward.

Hopefully you had enough of the free suds so that the actual game is erased from your memory.

If Ernie Harwell were still around, he would have said "Mistah Fistah". A splendid win, tonight.

The power of the Tigers:

Verlander
Scherzer
Fister
Turner

Maybe Porcello ought to change his name? Porceller?

Great victory today. Last year, after 93 games, our record was 49--44. Today, after 93 games, the record is 49-44.

The bottom third of the order picked it up yesterday. Any new word on if/when Martinez can come back this year? I love the thought of not having Raburn in the lineup in late August and September.

I wish it were not so, but I doubt that Martinez will be coming back this year. The news on Dirks isn't good, either. The Tigers have to do the job with the hand they are dealt.

I expect that there will be a very solemn moment of silence at the start of the game tonight for the victims and families of the Colorado tragedy.

its mostly pitching changes.
he just makes too many pitching changes that opposing managers so easily make adjustments for... they all seem to go bad and end up in blown leads.

He is one of the league's worst managers, easily. Doesn't know what is going on in games, who is pitching etc. Really inexcusable stuff.

Victor won't be back until September at best. May as well count him out all year.

Perfect night for the ball game. should be about 75 and sunny around the first pitch. Verlander. Peavy. awesome game.

Verlander, last night, at pitch 112. Still going strong. It was emotional to see him leave the mound at the end of the 8th inning to a standing ovation. Witnessing history. It's good to be a 1/2 game out of 1st.

1st place in the AL Central after a 7-1 over the White Sox--didn't think we'd make it just a few weeks ago. (O ye of little faith!) Enjoying it while it lasts.

It was on this very day, one year ago, when the Tigers took over 1st and never looked back. Can we repeat history?

Frederick Porcello pitched like a pro, today.
