It's not just Gammons. Every NY writer jumped all over Sox as have most baseball writers. I think the Times had something like 8 oit of 8 writers picking Sox to win it all.

Looks like you have some bitterness towards the Red Sox. Orioles are having a good year. Enjoy that since it has been a really long time. If the Sox are really garbage as you say and the Orioles stay strong, maybe they we will actually see Camden Yards have more Oriole fans than Red Sox fans show up when the teams play. It has also been a long time since that has happened.

I think Santana is pretty good. He always looks like a great for like 6 innings, then melts down and gives up a grand slam in the 7th or something.

I'm just scared of what comes after him. I don't know how, but Scott Kazmir is washed up at 27.


Who the fuck would pay 20 mil a year for .091 production? Even at his best hes a .270 hitter with above average defense. Okay... besides the Jays and the Angels, the Mets probably would.......

I think Kazmir has always been a head case. Great stuff but Rays ran out of patience waiting for him to put it together. There has been some injuries and maybe he has had more that are not public? But at this point it is hard to see him being part of the rotation at the end of the season

He was a total stud for 4 years... I think there is some injury that is undisclosed that the Rays probably knew about.

A left hander throwing 94 with a power slider is now a guy that barely gets it to 88 and either throws behind the batter or right down the middle.

Maybe you should be paying attention to that horrible flop of a team that will be coming around the bend in KC. Where your closer has an ERA approaching 7. The best pitcher on your team has a 2.6 ERA and 0 count them 0 wins to show for it. KC has 1 1/2 players on offense, Butler and the soon to disappear like always Gordon. Of the people associated with that era I still think Bonds, Clemens, A-Rod, Palmeiro and Petitte make it to the Hall. Sosa, McGwire (especially) and Sheffield are out.

^ Well, steroids are an illeagl substance. So in taking them the players broke the law of the land. I think Bonds and Palmeiro were both HOFers before they even took roids.

Edit: With Palmeiro, I actually believe this Senate testimony, and I think he was given something by Tejada (didn't know what it was) and popped positive. He was struggling at the time trying to make it to 3000 hits.

Sox should be in panic mode. Toughest division in sports and a terrible record with horribly inconsistent play. I'm a huge Sox fan. It's horribly disappointing. Look for the Phillies to win the NL very easily. Rangers I except to slow down due to overall lack of pitching (except Feliz). Tommy Hunter had a good year last year but his stuff is hardly major league calibre. He'll drop off.
