I think they need to infuse some fresh blood into the Uga line, the last couple haven't held up so well

VI, VII, and VIII have died in the last couple years. Six hung around for quite awhile, had a heart attack in 2008 but he was ten at the time. VII was only around for a year, had a heart attack. UGA VIII was only the mascot for a few games

Guess we're back to Russ again.

Do they start with puppies or mature adults? And who takes care of it?

There's a family that owns and breeds them. They bring him up from south GA for the games. There's a whole mess of UGA lineage dogs, they find one that fits the qualifications (all white, male, not fixed) when the previous one passes. Age depends on what is available, but they're always at least adults.

They charge a pretty insane fee to stud Uga's out, but there's always a waiting list. Lucky dog

So the Justice Department is investigating the NCAA.

All I'll say is this... it literally does not matter, in any way, if there is a playoff or not. It doesn't. Dudes'll still be upset that it is just 8 teams, not 10, or whatever or that the teams selected are still by a vote with inherent biases that are impossible to overcome... I could go on and on.

Oh, and really, think about it... what impact does it have on anything, other than pointless and unimportant sports debates about which team is "better"? It will solve no budget crises...bring us no closer to world peace... puts food on no one's plate who needs it...

I mean we love to argue, so we'll keep arguing about something related to the championship.

If ain't fixable, don't even try to fix it.

I would like a playoff system, but I am concerned about one forced upon college football by the government.

Waaaaayyy too early to determine top recruiting classes. These are 16-18 year olds and hey change their mind a lot. And each year, it seems more and more of them go back on tcommitments.

With that said.....FSU looks like they are doing an excellent job at recruiting. But let's see how their season plays out. A lot of kids will bail on program that is having a subpar season.

A quick look at a half-dozen preseason rankings and I get an amalgamated top ten looking like:

1. Alabama
2. Oklahoma
3. Oregon
4. Boise State
5. LSU
6. FSU (

, but Fox Sports has us at #1, which is

)
7. Va Tech (

)
8. Nebraska
9. Stanford
10. Texas A&M (when was the last preseason ranking that had them above Texas?)

Alabama has a difficult schedule, I doubt they'll finish in the top 5.

Oklahoma has a relatively light schedule - only tough games are at FSU, Texas, and Texas A&M

Oregon has a pretty difficult schedule

Boise State, as usual, is playing TCU, Georgia, and a bunch of ****** teams.

LSU has a difficult schedule, but I think they'll finish above Alabama. The SEC will be, by their standards, down this year.

FSU faces nine bowl teams, including Oklahoma and Miami and plays at Clemson and at Florida. We will likely lose to Oklahoma and slip up somewhere else along the way.

Va Tech will flame out.

Nebraska - I have no idea how they will turn out. Stopped caring when they ditched the option way back when.

Stanford - the Andrew Luck ESPN hype machine will reach Tebow -like proportions.

Texas A&M - Quarterback position settled? Should be fun to watch this year.

likely will be #2 from last year, AJ McCarron. it hasn't been officially announced yet and it's still 'up for grabs' between him and sims.
