Total side note - whatever ever happened to Willie Williams?

going by your standards, i'd call it "rampant cheating"

Cane fans are atrocious. Seriously, ask any other team that plays them regularly. They are nationally infamous.

Seminole fans aren't obnoxious, they're flakey. The Cowgirls, the mysterious worship of Bobby Bowden, the Lakeresque attendance, etc.....I'll give you that UM fans bring out the worst in FSU fans though. I've never seen a beer thrown at Doak Campbell outside of a Miami game.

73 over the course of ~10 years (UM) sure does

Infuriatingly, the head of the NCAA infractions committee that persecuted USC was the AD at Miami. How does the AD at Miami get to be head of the infractions committee anyway?

A booster paid his application fee and juiced the committee's admission committee, just like the student athletes.

A variation of the principle "it takes a thief to catch a thief," perhaps?

Ok, so is that the entirety of the U's punishment?
^ I understood that was the players' punishment. The program can still face major sanctions. Like Reggie Bush giving up the Heisman (personal penalty, even though he was long gone) and USC's loss of scholarships and bowl ban. At least, I hope Miami gets a major ass-whipping for such an egregious violation.

Reggie Bush's "punishment" as it relates to the Heisman Trophy return has nothing to do with the NCAA sanctions (at least directly). The Heisman Trust is a private organization and they independently decided to make him return it.

In the case of Miami, it's the school trying to put a band-aid on a gunshot wound. If they play these players and all this stuff is inevitably found to be true, they'd be so much more fucked than they already are.
