Unlikely, yes. But it's tail risks that will cause me to have prolonged capital loss. (I'm long only)

If Germany and France did that and left, it'd obviously be the end of the EU and the Euro, and our retirement savings. I really doubt it goes that far.

Ridiculous old British citizen pride and clinging on to the good old days.

I doubt it goes that far either. But I can see Spain or Italy trying to leave.

I think it is a likely scenario that we see a handful of EU refs but most/all will go down in flames once the "Remain" advocates launch their "Holy shit! Are you as stupid as those fucking limeys?!" ad campaigns.

For the near/medium future the "Leave" campaign has been made to look foolish enough (all old farts, people Googling "what is the EU?", protest voters agog that their side actually won, etc.) to make their brand fairly toxic.

Finally, you guys are right, the UK has always been the unwilling accomplice in the EU. Others feel more invested.

Edit: Also, lol at the Italy as widow joke

Spain, huh? Can you explain why you see them try to leave? I'd love to hear this.

Why would any EU welfare queen country leave? There's no upside.

No logical reason, but blind nationalism is an awesome force. Claim that economic woes are the fault of outsiders and that [insert piss poor EU nation here] would be better on her own two feet. Silly thought, but sadly effective.

A similar paradox exists when people in Mississippi and Alabama clamor for smaller gov't and lower Fed taxes.

I've kept making deposits into my wisebanyan account--another today.

Even if it keeps going down...I needed to get this money into the market anyways, and if I do it piece by piece, it will all even out.

Another tomorrow!

What the FUVX. I pussied out and sold my big UVXY position today when it started dropping hard EOD to 14.80 (I was still in the green from buying low last week). And now after hours it's trading up 12%. Garbage!
